5th Grade Music Program

The 5th Grade Music Program "The Music Man Jr." will be presented Tuesday, October 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the Langston Hughes Gym. Students will need to report at 6:45 p.m. to their classroom.

I am sending home CD's for students to practice with at home. This will help with memorization of the words as I do not see them daily for rehearsals. If you do not have a CD player you can download it onto an MP3 player or you can also play it on your computer.

Students who do not have a specific part may dress as townspeople of River City, Iowa (early 1900's) Examples: Girls may wear full skirts or pinafores, or simply aprons over a skirt and blouse. Boys may wear knickers, shirts and suspenders or farm -type wear(plaid shirts and overall or jeans).

If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks for your help and support. Mrs. Robinson-Music Teacher / srobinso@usd497.org

Music Information

4th Grade is studying the treble clef and will be having timed tests during class.
I have sent home a set of flashcards for each student to study at home.
Students will have 5 minutes to answer 60 problems. If they get a 100% on that test they get to take at test with Bold96 problems. If they get 100% on that test they get to challenge me!

Kindergarten classes are starting to learn songs for their music program "Gettin' Down With Mamma Goose" on Thursday, March 10. It will performed in the Langston Hughes gym at 6:30 p.m. I will be sending home a CD for the students to practice with so they can learn the songs. Home practice really helps, as I do not get to see the students every day for music. I will be sending out more information as we get closer to the performance.

3rd -6th Graders will be attending a performance of "Black Violin" at the Leid Center the afternoon of Tuesday, February 8th. They are a group that combines classical music with hip-hop.
